Clink Street ‘88 Series

Staffordshire Stoneware clay, pigmented clay slips, transparent salt glaze, Rave Flyers ceramic in-glaze transfers.

Original artwork - one off piece of pottery (no editions).

Available as a pair, or, individually. “Desire!” is the piece on the right, “Freedom to Party” is the piece on the left.

Part of our Clink Street ‘88 Series, this unique pot features a selection of rave flyers ceramic in-glaze transfers laid into a transparent salt glaze. During the summer of 1988 there were a series of Acid House raves and parties in Soho Wharf in Clink Street. This series of Parties were the birth place of Acid House in the UK and for many it was the first time they had heard this music. Our Clink Street ‘88 Series celebrates this important cultural event which contributed so much to the development of UK dance music and culture.

Hand thrown and fired to 1,220°C.

Glaze: transparent salt glaze, that creates small bubbles in the surface.

This item is a one-off piece that is made, glazed, and fired by studio potter James Sims in a small studio in Central London. The photographs show the individual pot for sale.
